My parents moved to the United States several years before I was born, so I was born and raised in the country. We visited my distance relatives in Poland often, though, so even though they lived far away, our family was very close. Just a few years ago, my aunt (mother's sister) became ill and, since she was single with no children, didn't have anyone to help her around the house. My mother then became dedicated to helping her emigrate into the United States, so she could live with us. While it was a difficult, lengthy process, my aunt is now here in the US and feeling much better! I know that navigating the US immigration system can be difficult, so I wanted to start a blog to share what we learned during my aunt's journey along with other immigration facts I have learned.
